I need the full "edit contact" form, preferably w/o extra clicks to get it. I find contact cards useless as, among other problems, they show a single phone # w/o revealing whether it's landline, cell, or other. I essentially never use People directly, always using the "search people" box from within Mail or Calendar views. You'll also need to use the legacy GAL if you want to add digital certificates to existing contacts. If you've ever double clicked on an address in contacts and were frustrated when the new contacts card came up, you'll want to use the legacy gal dialog. In addition to using the contact form when adding new contacts from an email address, you'll get the older Properties dialog when you view address properties instead of the contact card, such as when you need to see if Send using Rich Text Formatting is enabled for an address. While you can't turn the contact cards off completely, you can force Outlook to use the contact form when you turn on the Legacy GAL dialog. They want to use the familiar Outlook contact form, not the contact card, when they use the Add to Outlook Contacts command. I had a couple of questions this week from users who hate the contact cards in Outlook, especially when they are trying to save a new contact.

If you installed the iCloud download from Apple (or it was installed by iTunes), the contacts folder is called iCloud.The bug from early 2021 is fixed in all current builds released after March 1. If you installed iCloud from the Microsoft store, the address book name is Contacts. Verify the folder is enabled as an Address Book. Right click on the iCloud Contacts folder and choose Properties, look on the Outlook Address Book tab. The iCloud installation should enable the iCloud Contacts as an Address Book automatically, but you can double-check just to be sure.

Set the iCloud contacts folder to be searched first (at the top of the dialog).

If you installed from the Windows store, select the folder named Contacts.

Select the iCloud contacts from the menu at the bottom of the dialog.

If iCloud is not the default address book, click Tools, Options.

When More columns is selected, you'll only see contacts when you type something in the search field.

If the iCloud address book is displayed in the Address book selector, but you cant see any contacts, select Name only for Search on the left.

If you are using the new Simplified ribbon:

Click the Address Book button on the Home menu or press Ctrl+Shift+B.

To check which address book Outlook is using, you need to open the Address Book dialog. The usual reason the iCloud Contacts aren't visible in the address book is because you're looking at the wrong address list. If you downloaded the iCloud addin from Apple (or it was installed by iTunes), the Contacts folder is labeled "iCloud". If you installed iCloud from the Microsoft store, the iCloud contacts folder is named "Contacts". If it's not listed, see the information at the end of this article. The iCloud contacts should be on this list (either as iCloud or another Contacts folder). If you double click on the Outlook Address Book, you'll see a list of all Contacts folders that are enabled as Address books.

The iCloud Contacts are part of the Outlook Address Book. Well, they won't be listed separately in File, Account Settings, Address books. The contacts are not to be found in the Address Book or any reference to them under Account Settings – Address Books. My problem is with the iCloud contacts in the Address Book.
